一、自主學習概念的界定
國內外學者對自主學習有不同的界定，最早開始研究外語自主學習的 Holec將其定義為“對自己學習負責的能力”。［1］他把責任分為靜態和動態兩種，所謂靜態是指學習者本人或在他人的幫助下制訂學習計劃并按計劃實施；所謂動態是指負責學習過程。他還把自主學習能力概括為確定學習目標、確定內容進度、選擇方法技巧、監控學習過程、評估學習效果等五個方面。許多研究者把Holec對自主學習的定義視為后來自主學習研究的起點。
在自主學習的定義方面，國內學者徐錦芬等基于國外自主學習研究的大量文獻資料以及我國外語教學的特點，提出英語自主學習應該涵蓋五方面內容，即了解教師的教學目的與要求、確立學習目標與制訂學習計劃、有效使用學習策略、監控學習策略的使用情況、監控與評估英語學習過程。［2］可見，國內外學者對自主學習的描述有相似之處。
二、英語自主學習模式的構建
建構主義的最早提出者是瑞士的皮亞杰，他認為兒童的認知結構是通過同化和順應過程逐步建構起來的，并在“平衡—不平衡—新的平衡”的連續循環中得到不斷的豐富、提高和發展。在皮亞杰理論的基礎上，維果斯基、布魯納、斯騰伯格、卡茨等進一步豐富和完善了建構主義理論。建構主義應用于教育教學領域體現為，學習是一個建構過程，學習者在舊知識的基礎之上構建新知識，并加強對新信息和新知識的掌握和理解。既然學習者的學習依賴其原有的知識或經驗，那么，教師在教學中就應該考慮學習者的個體差異，因材施教。
基于此，我們強調的自主學習模式將個性化課堂教學和網絡自主學習融為一體，在課堂教學中，教師作為引導者、協調者，根據學生的個性需求、學習特點以及知識水平，實施個性化教學，突出學生的主體地位，激發學生的學習主動性和自主性。學生則利用網絡自主學習平臺，根據教師的教學目標和要求以及自己的學習興趣和需求，隨時隨地確立學習目標、制訂學習計劃、選擇學習方法、監控學習過程和評價學習結果，從而實現教學過程中教師和學生“雙主體”的教育理念，發揮教師和學生兩者的主體能動性，促進教與學的各個環節協調、有效發展。
三、英語自主學習模式的實施
我院根據高職高專人才培養目標和英語教學現狀，制定了符合本校學生特點的英語自主學習課程體系，設計出了具有高職特色的英語教學模式，從而指導教學實踐，促進高職學生英語實用能力以及綜合素質的提高。
（一）實施個性化課堂教學
學習者因受多種因素的影響而存在個體差異，如個性特點、英語水平、學習風格、知識范疇等方面的差異，因此，單一的教學方法無法滿足學生的需求，也難以調動學生的學習興趣和熱情，這就要求英語教學要打破傳統教學觀念的藩籬，改變教師在課堂教學中原有的作用和授課方式，實施個性化英語教學。我院所實施的個性化教學是教師在教學過程中以學生為中心，尊重每一個學生的個體差異，最大限度地發揮學生的潛能，使學生在遵守普遍性原則的前提下，能夠按照自己的行為和思想用英語進行交際。在教學手段方面，充分利用網絡資源和多媒體技術。在教學方法方面，利用討論式、啟發式、任務型等方式開展教學，使學生動口、動腦、動手，充分發揮他們的主觀能動性，引導其主動探究、自主學習。在教學內容方面，將課本知識與學生的現實生活、個人體驗以及未來職業相聯系，激發學生的內在動力。
（二）創建自主學習中心
目前，我院建設的藍鴿校園網語言學科平臺依托學校的校園網，幫助學生實現“網絡化自主學習”和“網絡化考試”的目標。每個學生獲得獨立賬號后，可以自由地選擇學習內容、安排學習時間、評價學習效果，還可以和教師在線互動，完成教師布置的學習任務。在平臺中，教師能夠上傳資料，豐富學生的學習內容；實現在線布置和批改學生的作業及試卷；在線答疑，與學生互動、交流，建立新型師生關系。然而，高職學生普遍存在自覺性差、自學能力不強、自我監督不嚴等缺點，因此，我院創建了供學生自主學習的實訓中心。首先，學生必須在實訓中心完成每周兩個課時的實訓，在實訓課中，專任教師對學生的自主學習現狀、學習策略和學習效果等方面給予評價和指導，解決學生在自主學習過程中遇到的困難并收集他們的反饋意見。其次，學生課后去中心上網學習，根據學習時間獲得相應的自主學習分值，同時，也能得到實訓中心指導教師的輔導，從而提高自主學習的效果。
（三）開展第二課堂活動
英語第二課堂是正規課堂教學的延伸和必要補充，可以為培養學生的自主學習能力和創新能力搭建一個寬闊的平臺。我院英語系開展了豐富的第二課堂活動，如英語餐廳、英語商店、英語角、英語文化藝術節、英語演講班、英語翻譯社等。英語餐廳是我院的校內實訓基地之一，學生以班級為單位進入餐廳實訓，餐廳在每周一至周五的11∶50~12∶30和17∶00~18∶00向全院學生開放，每個時間段由一名值班店長、一名店長助理以及八名服務生負責，他們穿戴統一服裝為廣大師生提供全英語的餐廳服務。顧客必須用英文和服務生交流，才可以在英語餐廳消費，并享受普通菜價的八折優惠。英語餐廳的實訓活動培養了學生的英語綜合運用能力，調動了學生的積極性、能動性，鍛煉了學生的實際操作能力。
（四）實施綜合性評價
評價僅僅只是一種手段，學生的最終全面發展才是我們真正的目的所在。綜合性評價方式在促進學生全面發展的過程中起到了一定的推動作用。我院所實施的綜合性評價結合了過程性評估和終結性評估，學生的總評成績由課堂平時成績、自主學習成績、技能測試和期末考試組成。課堂平時成績由學生參與課堂活動的表現決定，占總評成績的15%；自主學習成績包括自主瀏覽和自主作業兩項，自主瀏覽是學生根據自己的學習興趣自由選擇的學習任務，按照學習的時間長度獲得相應的分數，自主作業則是學生完成教師布置的在線作業的情況，兩部分共占總評成績的15%；技能測試是教師提供多個主題，學生以小組為單位自由選擇內容和呈現方式，在規定的時間內完成主題任務，教師根據學生的任務完成情況、團隊合作表現、語言技能的展示等評定成績，該部分占總評成績的30%；期末考試采用無紙化機試，是整合了詞匯、語法、口語、聽力、閱讀、寫作和翻譯各項語言基礎和技能的一項綜合性網絡考試，客觀題由考試系統自動評分，主觀題由教師在線閱卷批改，該部分占總評成績的40%。據此，學生可以對自己的學習情況自查、自省，教師也可以從中發現每個學生的閃光點，因材施教，從而提高教學質量。

湖南衛視舉辦的《超級女聲》、《快樂男聲》以青春煽情的特點,掀起了一次又一次的收視高峰,周杰倫的一曲《東風破》一夜之間風靡整個校園……同時,依托網絡、電腦、手機、電視為載體的流行文化正在沖擊著中國中學生的英語課堂,中學生的英語學習正受到現代視聽媒體的挑戰。青少年崇拜名人,特別是明星偶像的現象已蔚然成風。如何利用流行文化來提高中學生英語素質呢?我想說說我通過流行文化“復活”英語課堂的反思。
【案例背景】
傳統的英語課,老師按部就班導入新課,學習字詞,讀課文,教師提問,學生作答,再做總結練習,刻板、沉悶,沒有一點生氣。農村英語教學更因學生接觸面窄,怯于表達,教師一提問,滿座寂然。學生答不出,教師做宣講,學生一節課都在聽,沒有一點主動性,英語教學陷入了古板、惹人生煩的局面。學生認為英語課是最無聊、最無用的課。作為一個農村英語教師,我一直在努力改變這種狀況。當那次班級演講總決賽在同學們的歡呼聲中結束時,我突然明白了我們的課堂缺什么,應該怎么做。
【案例描述】
去年十月份,我計劃在班級組織一次以“Face up to life with smiles(微笑面對生活)”為主題的演講比賽活動。在設計教學時,突然冒出了用湖南衛視“超級女聲”比賽模式組織比賽的想法?！俺壟暋痹谌珖挠绊?尤其是在青少年中的影響無疑是由比賽的全民性、競爭性、懸念性與人文關懷造成的。我設計了一個“海選”―“復活”―“決賽”的比賽模式。
在第二天的課堂中,我說出了這個想法。不想學生們先是“瞪大了眼睛”,接著便是“歡呼雀躍”,大叫著“太好了!超女,復活,太好了!”學生的這種強烈的反應讓我也倍受感染。只有長期在農村教學的教師,才能體會到學生們的這種反應的難能可貴,以及他們的反應中折射出的長久的壓抑。
第二課時進行“海選”。將47人分成6組,每組人員輪流用英語演講,組員推選出一名學生進入決賽。如果小組內有難分秋色的情況,落選的一人可以復活。海選后沒想到每組都有要求復活的人,有的小組甚至有2名學生要求復活。他們祈盼的眼神和超女們要求復活追求明星夢的愿望一樣真摯、一樣強烈。我沒有理由不答應。
第三節課改成了復活賽。為了不讓總決賽選手過多,我狠心只給他們三個復活名額,并且宣布三名復活選手將和第一輪最后一名PK,四人中只有一人晉級。我分明感到他們的失望,但失望卻激發了他們的熱情,復活賽一開場就十分精彩,后面的五位個個神采飛揚,妙語連珠。這是我沒想到的。我認為他們能脫稿已經很不容易了,沒有想到這些農村孩子不但能脫稿,而且神態大方,手勢得體。教室里一片寂靜,只有他們的激情在回蕩,回報他們的是陣陣掌聲。我的眼睛突然有些濕潤,為這些孩子們的表現,為這遲來的活動。
總決賽終于拉開了帷幕。第一環節,6位選手每人說一句話,為自己加油,為自己拉票。
有以勵志開頭的――“My dream,glaring color of light,“he said,“I am YangRongFei 01,athletes,believe me,won’t let you down.(我的夢想,閃耀著彩色的光,我是01號選手楊榮菲,相信我,不會讓你們失望!)”。選手們個性張揚,我型我秀。英語演講稿件很多選手是借助網絡在線翻譯完成的。為了讓同學們能聽懂,他們往往先說完英語后,自己又用中文翻譯一遍。
第二環節,演講比賽。雖然個別學生由于看到評委老師在場,有些膽怯,但比賽還是精彩紛呈。
第三環節,即興演講。每位選手選一個對手,兩人就同一話題發表見解,勝者晉級下一輪,敗者則有可能被淘汰。談到“I mportant class division of the view(對劃分重點班的看法)”,張宏發以“Environment edification(環境造就人)”入題,簡短的一段話體現了一個“理論―事例―觀點”的清晰思路。談到“好老師的標準”,兩人都提到好老師要關注學生內心世界,促使不同程度的學生發展,觀點深刻。我原先預想即興演講會很難,有可能冷場。但這段比賽卻被精彩和理性擠占無余。三位敗者發表感言,一位會神奇復活。楊淼同學竟動情地流了淚……
最后,當張宏發等三位同學戴上同學們自制的金冠、銀冠、銅冠時,全場一片沸騰?！跋氤统?唱得響亮……”李宇春的歌聲回蕩在教室,學生們久久不愿離去。
【案例反思】
1.導致課堂沉悶的不是我們的學生,而是教師沒有真正替學生想:什么樣的教學才是他們想要的。當我們大喊“學生為主體”的新課標的口號,努力要求改革教學時,其實我們沒有真正地做到這一點?，F在想來,英語課堂為什么如此冷落,而“超級女聲”等娛樂節目讓學生如癡如醉,原因很簡單,因為他們想到了觀眾,充分尊重了觀眾。教學完全是為學生服務的,我們卻沒有真正替學生想過,他們想要怎么學。當真正做到了“一切為了學生”時,我們的教學還會如此艱難嗎?
