【關鍵詞】英語;分層管理模式;嘗試

《國家中長期教育改革和發展規劃綱要(2010-2020 年)》明確指出:“注重因材施教。關注學生不同特點和個性差異,發展每一個學生的優勢潛能。”2011 年9 月,北京市八一中學英語組經區教科所批準,承擔了區級重點課題“初中英語分層教學實驗研究”,推進分層教學、走班制、學分制、導師制等教學管理制度改革。我校初中英語組在參考國內外分層教學的理論及實踐成果后,以素質教育理論為指導思想,根據目前初中學生英語學習的現狀――英語成績和掌握程度存在差異、兩極分化嚴重、學習興趣不濃,提出并開展了“動態分層”教學法的研究實驗?!皠討B分層教學”要求老師根據大綱和教材要求,針對不同層次班級學生的接受能力,設計不同層次教學目標,提出不同層次的學習要求,給予不同層次的輔導,進行不同層次的強化訓練和檢測,從而使各類學生分別在各自的起點上選擇不同的速度,獲取數量、層次不同的知識,培養不同層次的能力,促進不同層次的學生達到教學目標的教學。

2012 年9 月,2015 屆英語組面臨更大的挑戰,根據學校的計劃和安排,初一年級在十三個班開展英語分層教學。為了有效進行英語分層教學管理,2015 屆初一英語組進行了以下嘗試:

一、探討分層教學中全組集體備課和分層組備課相結合的新模式

集體備課是對教學工作進行全程優化的教研活動,使教師在教學的認知、行為上向科學合理的方向轉化。自我鉆研、集體研討、分工主備、教后反思的過程,就是教師專業發展的過程,更有利于教師在高起點上發展。2015 屆初一英語組成立至今,高度重視集體備課活動,針對新課標對英語教師的要求,在備課中重視研究新課標與舊課標的差異和新課標的解讀,重視教學策略的研究和針對學情的分層教學的研究;認真學習北京市八一中學初中學科分層教學管理制度,明確英語教師在分層班的職責;明確本學期英語備課組的重點備課方向和教學進度,制定合理的教學計劃,探討分層教學中全組集體備課和分層組備課相結合的新模式。

以《2015屆初一英語組七年級上教學計劃》中的“具體工作”為例,教師在開學初就明確了本學期英語組的工作內容和重點:

1. 研究分層走班制的管理,在動態中加強學生的管理,構建科學合理、適合校情的管理體系,形成教育教學的良性循環,行政班和教學班的管理齊頭并進,相互補充。完成課本九個單元的授課內容,全面提高學生聽、說、讀、寫的能力。

2. 以教學班為單位,做好班級學生的思想工作,及時了解和把握學生的學習、心理變化,發揮心理咨詢室的作用,及時疏導和解決問題,讓學生在積極愉悅的氛圍中快樂學習。

3. 針對小升初,進行教學評價和測試的研究。

4. 完成《快捷英語》聽力的測試和講解,并將此項成績納入過程性評價。

5. 開展精品課的研究,通過備課、授課、研課、評課、課后反思等環節提升教師的教學教育能力。

6. 試卷命題的研究和反思(試卷的出題思路、考試題型和分值、試卷中的典型錯誤、試卷中反映出的教學整體狀態和應對措施等)。

7. 全體英語教師參加基本功大賽,提升教學能力,優秀教師參加區基本功大賽。

8. 全體教師參加選修課和校本教研的研究。

9. 開展多樣的學科活動和學法指導,培養學生的學科興趣。

為了分析教材的知識結構,尋找教學與各層次學生的認知水平的結合點,初一英語備課組分層制定教學目標,選擇教學策略,確定教學方式,制定了分層備課的任務安排表和備課記錄表。

二、制定明確的備課內容和任務安排,固化教學成果;形成過程性記錄、課件、課例研究和優秀教案

2015 屆初一英語組每次備課都有主備人,全組教師充分挖掘和分析教材,并通過各種手段搜集各種有用信息。全組備課的重點是備三維目標、備學生活動、備有效作業;分層備課范圍不僅僅局限于教學設計、教學方法等,還在教學的有效性、教學機智、教師語言、語言拓展、課外語言學習指導等層內討論,在教學反思、教學環節的更改、教材的新解讀等方面擴大教學思路。平時非備課時間,組內教師經常在學生情況(包含作業、課堂紀律、課堂表現、課堂準備等),特定的教學任務、教學活動、教學策略、作業或作品、閱讀等方面進行交流和分享。大家通過集體備課,構建和完善教育資源共享及教學成果交流平臺,加強課題研究,力求教學模式的創新。當所有備課人討論完畢后,主備課人負責整理和總結,并按照備課要求形成文字、形成集體智慧的結晶。

在集體備課中,本組每一位教師都積極參與討論,發表自己的獨到見解,一起解決教學中的問題,一起探究如何把教學內容落到實處,討論如何提高課堂教學效率,如何突破重難點,不斷提高教學能力,大大縮短了分層教學的摸索階段。

三、開展精品課的研究,提升教師的教學教育能力

在2015 屆初一年級13 個班實行分層教學的大背景下,初一年級組英語老師分別在各自的執教班內,認真鉆研分層教學特點,進行了分層教學研究和實踐,制定了公開課安排表:

但是,目前我國外語教學的評價方式過多地依賴終結性評價(如期中、期末考,中考和高考等),把考試成績作為衡量學生外語能力的唯一標準。這種不科學的評價方式不僅扼殺了學生學習的積極性和創造性,而且給教學帶來了極大的負面影響,使中學英語教學走進了應試的怪圈。本文試圖對初中英語教學中濫用測試的現象探源及提出應對措施等方面加以初步討論。

一、中學英語教學濫用測試的現象及其嚴重后果

測試作為教學評價的一種方式,是評價學生掌握與運用英語知識和能力的必不可少的手段。語言學習離不開語言測試,素質教育也不排斥考試。但是,日常教學中的測試在測試目的、內容和方法上存在在許多問題和誤區,隨意性很大,很不規范。濫用測試現象嚴重,主要表現在以下幾方面。

1. 以考代教,以考代學,濫用測試

測試作為檢查和評估教學效果的手段,不能取代或沖擊日常的課堂教學這個根本。然而,有些教師卻本末倒置,以考代講,以考代練,把生動活潑的語言教學變成枯燥乏味的應試訓練。學生學習英語的過程已成不變的“三步曲”,即上課聽講――課后練習――考試過關。于是各種考題、試卷泛濫成災,學生為應試而疲于奔命,其后果只能是將學生引向迷途,使他們對英語學習的目的和方法產生誤解,以為學好英語的方法就是多考、多做模擬題,這種教學方法下培養出來的學生只能是高分低能

2. 考非所教,考非所學,目的不明

日常教學中運用測試的目的的是檢查教學過程中學生基礎知識的掌握情況和基本技能的形成情況。命題應依據課程標準和所學教材,命題范圍應為本階段所教內容,做到“學什么,考什么”。然而,有些單元測試仿照中考題型結構,能力題比重過大,只有幾道選擇題與所學內容有關,這種脫離教學內容的測試是造成中學英語學習成績兩極分化的重要原因之一。

3.數量偏多,質量偏差

就初一年級來說,除教科書及配套的練習冊、閱讀訓練、單元測試外,許多學生還會再訂一些課外練習冊,并且教師還會再訂二、三套,這樣,初一英語每單元用的練習試卷四至五套。平時每周考二至三次,復習期間一天一測,整個學期下來,至少也做八十至一百多張英語試卷。初一已經如此,初二、初三就更不用說了。更為嚴重的是,有些學校把市場上銷售的考題,不加選擇地引進“課堂”。這些試題不僅缺乏針對性,題型單調,語言知識考查“偏”、“難”、“怪”,搞得學生暈頭轉向,而且許多試卷無磁帶錄音,無法進行聽力測試。更有甚者,有的試題簡直就是互相抄襲,粗制濫造,質量低劣。

二、原因分析

傳統的學校教育、教學評價多以終結性評價為主,評價方法單一,甚至出現筆試一統天下的局面,只看結果,不重過程,不能全面考查一個人的綜合素質和水平,很難體現學生的自主性和主體地位。面對制度,教師們感到無奈。造成上述濫用測試現象原因很多,但總的來說,主要有以下兩點:

1. 現行的評價方式和考試制度

在許多學校,衡量學生學業成就的唯一標準是分數;同樣,考試分數也作為衡量教師工作好壞、教學水平高低的尺度,并與教師的職稱評定、評優及晉升等切身利益直接掛鉤。于是,為了追求較高分數,教師被迫加大作業量,搞題海戰術,這挫傷、遏制了教師進行教學改革的積極性。

2. 教師自身原因

首先是教師缺乏教改動力,不敢去嘗試改革;其次,教師自身素質偏低,在教學方面習慣于信賴教參、試卷等現成材料,以為書上的、試卷上的就是可靠的,自編試題還較麻煩。而更多的人則相信“勤能補拙”,所以爭著去擠時間多解題。他們以為多做試題,學生成績就會好。為此,許多教師把測試當成教學的一項主要任務,他們錯誤地認為學生的分數越高,英語水平就越好,只重視筆試,而忽視綜合能力。

三、應對措施

針對目前濫用測試的嚴重現象,筆者認為應在改革評價制度上下功夫。隨著《英語課程標準》的實施,評價制度的改革勢在必行。一種能激勵學生學習興趣和自主學習能力發展的多元化的科學評價體系必將建立。新的評價體系將既重視結果,又關注過程,尤其是重視形成性評價在教學過程中的作用和地位,體現學生在評價中的主體地位。新的評價體系主張:

做到測試與練習、口試與筆試、課內與課外、百分制與等級制或評語制結合。面對英語課程的具體特點,根據學生學英語的具體狀況,合理選用不同的方法。在理解的基礎上,教師應不存偏見,以開放的心態、平等的態度綜合運用不同類型的方法,努力獲取學生的全面信息,使評價方法使用時有相當的靈活性,從而使評價的作用和效益最大化。

2.評價內容全面性

不僅要對學生的語言知識和能力及智力開發的發展作出評價,而且要對學生學習過程中的表現以及所反映出的情感、態度、策略等非智力因素作出評價。根據《英語課程標準》,評價尤其是要包括以下五方面的內容,即語言技能、語言知識、情感態度、學習策略、文化意識。

3.評價主體多元化

根據英語教學的特點,應鼓勵學生、同伴、教師和家長共同參與評價。應注意教師的評價、學生的自我評價與學生之間互相評價相結合。改變傳統評價中由教師說了算、學生處于被評價地位的評價方式,構建自我評價、同學(小組)評價、教師評價、家長及社區人士參與評價的整體評價體系,充分發揮各自的評價功能。

4.規范測試管理,確保命題質量

應根據英語課程標準和教學內容,科學地、規范地設計每份試卷,控制試題的難度。必須嚴格控制考試次數,減輕學生學習負擔。淡化測試的評判作用,強化其激勵、診斷和發展功能,嚴禁按考分排列名次,嚴禁將考分用于各種招生廣告等。

總之,要改革和完善測試的內容和結構,保證其科學性,注重其實效性;同時要積極思考并參與新課程背景下的評價改革,在教學實踐中探索能促進學生健康成長和教師發展的教育評價新模式,充分發揮評價促進發展的功能,使評價的過程成為促進教學發展與提高的過程。
