1.2體育院校學生英語課程的學習現狀
首先，體育院校學生對英語課程有比較大的抵觸情緒，集中表現為：掌握單詞數量不足、口語能力差、學習英語主動性和積極性不高。其次，體育院校學生英語學習習慣不良，對于英語學習采用被動式的方法，導致不能養成預習、復習、練習英語的習慣。其三，體育院校學生英語學習動機的水平不高，大多數體育院校學生對于英語的學習動機集中在應付考試和畢業上。最后，體育院校學生學習英語的目標不明確，受到自身英語能力和周邊環境的影響，體育院校學生中存在對英語學習認知不清，不能通過正確的定位建立長遠的英語學習目標，這也是他們在學習英語過程中主動放棄的重要原因之一。

3英語教學與體育院校校園文化建設的結合
3.1建立校園的雙語標志
在體育院校每一個可利用的角落展示英語。每個教室，辦公室，實驗室，功能室門牌上都標有英漢兩種標識，比如“，醫務室（Clinic）”，走廊里“請節約用水（Save Water，please！）”、“靠右走（RightSide）”，“不要隨地吐痰（NoSpitting！）”像這樣的標識到處可見，讓學生時時刻刻都能感受英語的存在，體會英語的作用。
